Washington, D.C. - Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement tonight after Speaker Boehner announced his intention to nominate longtime congressional aide Ed Cassidy as the Chief Administrative Officer of the House starting in January:
“Ed Cassidy has worked tirelessly to ensure that the House operates smoothly and serves Members and staff effectively. I have every confidence that he will continue to meet this same standard as he takes on his new role.
“As a longtime staffer, on Capitol Hill and in the executive branch, Ed Cassidy has brought a strong commitment to public service and a wealth of knowledge to his daily work. He has acted with a deep respect for the institution of the House, and we look forward to seeing those same attributes on display as he assumes his duties as our next Chief Administrative Officer.”
