San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after Congressman Frank Wolf announced that he would not seek re-election in 2014:
“With the retirement of Congressman Frank Wolf, Virginia’s 10th District and the House of Representatives will lose a relentless and resolute champion for human rights.
“A man of great faith, he has continually demonstrated the courage, humanity, and persistence necessary to protect the persecuted across the world. It has been an honor to work with him on promoting human rights in China and Tibet and I look forward to working with him once again when the world remembers the 25th anniversary of Tiananmen Square next year.
“As a person, Frank has always respected the dignity and worth of every human being, and as an elected official, he always acted upon his core principles and beliefs. I will miss him as a friend, and I have no doubt that he will continue to be a champion for the causes of freedom and justice in the years to come.”
