A new Washington Post/ABC News poll released today highlights the broad support among Americans for President Obama's economic agenda.
Results from the poll:

- Nearly 60 percent trust President Obama to do a better job in handling the economy - more than two-to-one over Republicans (25 percent). [Washington Post/ABC Poll, 3/31/09]
- Right Direction: “The number of Americans who believe that the nation is headed in the right direction has roughly tripled since Barack Obama's election” from 15 percent in December to 42 percent - “the highest percentage saying so in five years and marks a sharp turnabout from last fall, when as many as nine in 10 said the country was heading in the wrong direction.” [Washington Post, 3/31/09]
