Barbara DeChene, an official at the center, explained that about one year ago the center was out of funds and trying to secure funding week to week. The stimulus money helped 'beyond our wildest dreams,' she said. Instead of leaving 22 people without jobs and others without health care, the money allowed the center to add three employees and expand its services.
