The American people shouldn’t have to mark their calendars to remind themselves when to brace for the next GOP-manufactured crisis.

There are only five legislative days until Congressional Republicans shut down the government, and newspaper editorials continue calling on the GOP to end their obstruction, distraction and dysfunction:

“I’m hopeful that we are all in agreement, Democrats and Republicans, that we should not have a government shutdown – costly to the government, to the American people as it was during the government shutdown before.”

This is an economy brought to us by Republican trickle‑down economics. Trickle‑Down Economics, tax breaks for the rich. If they result in trickle‑down and result in jobs, that would be good. If they don’t, so be it.

“Once again, Republicans have chosen to put their radical ideology ahead of American workers. Republicans’ continuing refusal to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank is costing jobs and crippling American competitiveness in the global economy.”
