The updates to the disaster relief package provide urgently-needed assistance for the families and communities ravaged by recent and unprecedented natural disasters.  House Democrats are pleased that this bill provides a significant, $1 billion increase over the Administration’s request for the Disaster Relief Fund, in light of expanded needs due to Hurricane Nate and the deadly, still-burning California wildfires.

The White House’s short-sighted, dangerous decision to dismantle the Clean Power Plan is a direct assault on the health of our nation’s children.  Yet again, the Trump Administration is showing its disregard for the health and security of the American people, and is demonstrating its failure of leadership to combat the surging storms, devastating wildfires and other catastrophic impacts of the climate crisis.

The Administration can’t be serious about compromise or helping the Dreamers if they begin with a list that is anathema to the Dreamers, to the immigrant community and to the vast majority of Americans.

The Trump Administration’s staggeringly broad guidance greenlights open discrimination against tens of millions of Americans in a shameful attempt to advance the White House’s culture of cruelty and intolerance.  Attorney General Sessions’ guidance insults our laws and violates our fundamental values as Americans.
