Editorial Boards Agree: GOP Tax Cuts Only Benefit the Wealthiest, Including Trump

President Trump and Republicans would have you believe that the ‘biggest winners will be the everyday American workers’ in their tax ‘reform’ plan, even though they refuse to guarantee that their plan won’t raise taxes on hard-working families.  In reality, the Ryan-McConnell tax framework cuts taxes for the wealthiest, raises taxes on middle class families and adds trillions of dollars to the deficit.

Representative Nancy Pelosi might have retired from Congress had Hillary Clinton been elected, content that she was leaving the government in capable female hands.

“One of the reasons I stayed here is because I thought Hillary Clinton would win, we’d have a woman president and so there would be a woman not at a seat at the table, but at the head of the table for the world,” said Ms. Pelosi, the liberal Californian and longtime leader of House Democrats.

This month, House Democrats kept the drum beating on their bold economic agenda A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, Better Future by introducing two new planks to increase jobs for hard-working Americans.  Democrats proposed the Child Care for Working Families Act to offer affordable child care and early learning, as well as a universal high-speed internet initiative to increase accessibility in rural community.
