Instead of pandering to the special interests and the wealthy and going all-out on deficit-busting spending sprees, House Republicans should work with Democrats to create American jobs, spur innovation, and strengthen the economy for everyone.

Will the House Republican Conference listen and act in a commonsense, bipartisan manner? Or, will the extreme right wing of their party continue to pursue an anti-immigrant agenda that’s woefully out of touch with the country? The time to act is now, Mr. Speaker.

Nothing is more important than listening to the voices of constituents. Americans know that kicking the can down the road on immigration reform is an unacceptable option. We continue to wait for Speaker John Boehner to give us a vote.

House Republicans in the Appropriations Committee today squandered yet another opportunity to show that they’re on the side of America’s immigrant families. Instead, the overwhelming majority voted for splitting families.

“With today’s vote, the Senate acted to restore confidence in our nation’s solemn pledge to our veterans: that just as the military leaves no one behind on the battlefield, we must leave no veteran behind when they come home.”

“Today, Republicans in the House and the Senate once again showed their contempt for the millions of American burdened by crushing student loan debt. By blocking action on this growing and urgent crisis, Republicans have once again stood with millionaires over young Americans.”

This new poll is yet another example of House Republicans ignoring the will and voice of the American people. How many polls demonstrating the overwhelming support for immigration reform and a pathway to citizenship will it take for Speaker Boehner, Leader Cantor, and House Republicans to act in a commonsense and bipartisan manner?

The American people deserve better than this new House Republican normal.
