Pelosi Statement on Yountville Veterans Home Shooting

San Francisco — Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the tragic shooting at the Yountville Veterans Home in California:\

“The hearts of Americans across the nation break for the victims of the tragic shooting at Yountville Veterans Home.  Our prayers go to the families and loved ones of the selfless caregivers whose lives were cruelly cut short, and we send our profound gratitude to the first responders for their heroic efforts.

“It is particularly wrenching that this attack targeted Yountville, a compassionate center of care and a lifesaving haven for so many veterans.  This heartbreaking tragedy must stiffen our resolve to make real progress to treat the invisible wounds of war that devastate countless Americans.  Just as we pledge to leave no soldier behind on the battlefield, we must pledge to leave no veteran behind when they come home.

“May it bring some measure of comfort to the families and loved ones of Christine Loeber, Jen Golick and Jennifer Gonzalez that the country mourns with them during this dark time.”
