Dear Democratic Colleague,

The Spring District Work Period offers Democrats an important opportunity to focus on Medicare and Republicans’ relentless efforts to dismantle the health care of seniors and families across America.

Last Friday, we celebrated the 8th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act and the historic progress we made to expand coverage, lower costs, and improve benefits for every American – no matter how they get health coverage.  Republicans, however, have worked relentlessly to raise Americans’ health costs and to destroy the sacred guarantee of Medicare.

The American people rightly fear how the GOP Tax Scam will lead to devastating cuts to Medicaid and Medicare.  After adding $2 trillion to the debt with the GOP Tax Scam’s giveaways to corporations and the wealthiest 1 percent, the Trump Budget shows Republicans want to slash half a trillion dollars from Medicare and $1.5 trillion from Medicaid.

We must continue to amplify the truth about the GOP Tax Scam and the threat to Medicare.  I hope that this District Work Period, you will hold events in your community to spotlight these powerful issues.  Your office has been provided with event suggestions, talking points and other supporting materials for engaging your constituents.

While Republicans attack seniors’ health care, Democrats will offer A Better Deal – better jobs, better wages, better future, better Medicare, better health care for all Americans.
