Pelosi Statement on the Departure of Rules Committee Staff Director Miles Lackey

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement following the departure announcement of House Democratic Rules Committee Staff Director Miles Lackey:

“With the departure of Miles Lackey, Congress is losing a deeply-trusted voice and a dedicated public servant.  During his nearly three decades of service in the House, Senate and executive branch, Miles’s wisdom, creativity and determination have helped secure vital progress for hard-working families.

“Miles’ parliamentary and legislative expertise has won him the abiding respect of Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle and both sides of the Capitol.  Through his trusted judgement and counsel, Miles has helped to shape some of the most significant legislative accomplishments of the last half-century, including the Affordable Care Act and the historic Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform.

“Miles will be sorely missed by the countless Members of Congress and staff who relied on his legendary knowledge of the legislative process.  As he leaves Washington to join the staff of the historic Trinity Church in New York, we wish Miles and his family all the best in this next chapter of service.”
